Manoir Le Boutillier: A vibrant journey into the heart of Gaspé history

At the northern entrance to Forillon National Park, facing the Gulf of St. Lawrence, stands an iconic place where the past comes alive: Le Boutillier Manor. More than just a heritage building, this site invites visitors to experience an authentic immersion into Gaspésie's maritime history.

Here, each room tells a story of a time when the region thrived on the cod trade, maritime exchanges, and the great merchant families who shaped the territory.

A personalized visit combining heritage and living history

Upon arrival, the experience is distinguished by its warm and personal approach. Passionate guides, dressed in period costumes, accompany visitors through the manor's various rooms and share anecdotes, historical facts, and daily life stories.

The tour offers a chance to discover:

  • rooms faithfully furnished to the period;
  • carefully preserved antique objects;
  • the history of the Le Boutillier family;
  • the manor's central role in the regional economy.

Each visit is a unique experience, tailored to visitors' interests, whether they are history buffs, curious families, or heritage enthusiasts.

A tea room where the senses meet history

Le Boutillier Manor also features a must-visit tea room. In an atmosphere inspired by yesteryear, visitors enjoy an experience that is culinary, olfactory, and cultural all at once.

Delicate flavors, the aroma of freshly brewed tea, and heritage decor create an immersive atmosphere where time seems to slow down.

It is the perfect place to linger, savor the moment, and be transported to another era.

Watch history being restored before your eyes

The 2026 season also marks a significant milestone for the site. Major exterior restoration work will be undertaken to preserve this architectural gem.

Visitors will have the rare opportunity to observe artisans at work and learn more about the techniques used to restore the building to its former glory.

A unique way to discover history—not just told, but restored live.
